Bigstep x BDW: Big Data Week’s First Hybrid Conference

After a successful online event last year, Big Data Week returns for 2021 in a hybrid form. Bigstep is proud to be presenting partner at BDW for another year of insightful talks on big data and data analysis best practices. Join us October 13-14 for the opportunity to network with tech professionals, listen to top keynote speakers, and find out more about improving your own business through the use of data. Read below to find out more about the event and see you online!

Data, Data, and Data

Whenever I read, hear, or discuss about data nowadays, I keep remembering George Carlin’s bit on Stuff; the same way Carlin jokes about how our lives are governed by our ‘stuff’, the business industry (and even our lives) is now more and more governed by ‘data’. And that makes sense. According to Statista, the total amount of data created, captured, copied, and consumed globally is forecast to increase rapidly: over the next four years up to 2025, global data creation is projected to grow to more than 180 zettabytes.

To better comprehend that number, Dave Reinsel from IDC made it a bit more tangible by saying that “a zettabyte is a trillion gigabytes, and if one was able to store the 175 zettabytes onto Blu-ray discs, then you would have a stack of discs that could get you to the Moon 23 times”.

Why do businesses need and use so much data? Because data is not only data. Data is information. Data is insights. Data is competitive advantage. Data is power. Data is key.

Big Data Week Returns on October 13-14

With a new focus on the more practical aspects of analyzing data, BDW returns online for two days of insightful talks on the best strategies and technical tools used in big data. Powered by Bigstep, enterprise-grade dedicated server provider, and eSolutions.ro, technology company specializing in big data solutions, the event promises to keep you up to date with tomorrow’s trends, and leave out assumptions from your business decisions.

Why Big Data Week as a Hybrid Conference?

As we’ve all been through changing/challenging times, this year, Big Data Week adopts the hybrid format, allowing the speakers to relive the experience of a real stage and interaction, while the attendants can enjoy more dynamic talks from the coziness of their home.

The event also offers global connectivity and networking. You can use this chance to hear keynote speakers from across the world, easily ask them questions about their talks and innovative projects, and connect with professionals that would be difficult to connect with otherwise.

Compared to previous editions, this year’s event is divided into two tracks (business and technical), and two days, so you can join and listen to all the speaker slots, without having to choose which track to attend.
